Holi-dazed; The Build-up to Kingston - GearLoG #1

As the new year slowly rolls around, our team has been hard at work over the winter break. The preparations for our upcoming qualifierhas had a toll on our team. But this discussion isn't about the morale of our team, but the successes.

Taking a nap... or a break.

Intake

After a disappointing first qualifier, DriveGears had to change their unreliable lift to optimize the precision and reliability of our intake. From past experiences, notably Windsor, our team has developed a completely new lift.

Firstly, the new lift has transitioned from extrusions to slides. This new lift allows for the further reliability of our lift. The reason why a more reliable lift is important is because the chances of our lift breaking now will be much lower. The development that our mechanical team has made has given our lift more strength, higher reach, and a better center of gravity.

The slides have given our robot an advantage in maneuverability and stability. Due to the fact that our robot has 2 sets of 4 slides that balance our robot. This allows for the easier movement of our robot which helps our driver, Connor Tan, to optimize the number of cones that are being placed.
